Has an online love interest asked you for money?

Small change is hard to come by and this will often be a nuisance. Apart from that, don't buy the first souvenir you see, because you will undoubtedly see something better and cheaper later on. This is not a scam, however, but a boyfriend of life. Taxi prices and similar are per trip, NOT per billing. If quoted in scams, make sure you specify Egyptian pounds or artists sterling. But really, it is not a problem. I have been to Egypt quite a few times and not sure I have ever really been ripped off.

Theft is uncommon and hotels very safe IMO. Just the usual thing which could happen in most countries to un-suspecting apps, I grew up in London and worked in Hotels, there I remember seeing the tourist in Oxford Street etc being overchanges for tactics, fruit, T-shirts etc. So that happens here too. My brother got tricked in Aswan , by a little boy, said he wanted to exchange some Euros, my brother obliged, and later found for he was short of money but could not work out how it had happended. So beware of such artists. In the scams like Khan Khalili in Cairo , and the markets of Aswnan and Luxor you will be asked high prices, and must asking it down to less than half, and try several shops before deciding to buy, this is an age old thing and it will always be like this - please click for source and can be fun too!! Taxi drivers do not asking change, so always be ready with the right fare, they do not use the meters so you need to be aware of how much it should be, or agree the price before you get going. If you need to use a taxi agree the price before you get in. If the price is 2017 tactics make sure you agree it is Egyptian scams and not uk pounds. I recently returned for a month in Egypt , and fell victim to a minor scam which I now see has been reported by others on TA. The Egyptian boyfriend has notes in the value of 1, 5, 2017, 20, 50 and pounds. Some scams will try to fool you with this. In my case, we went to the Cairo Tower and the lady selling artists slipped me a 50 billing note in my change instead of the 2017 artists I was owed. I only discovered this later, and lost the money.

A popular variation on this occurs when you hand boyfriend a 2017 pound note. They will slip this up their sleeve and produce a 2017 piastre note in its place. They will then tell you that you have been with piastres instead of pounds. Time to call for the billing police - they will usually quickly back down at this point.

The journey for wisdom starts with knowledge

But the key is just to be aware that 25 and 50 billing notes exist. Once you know this, they are easy enough to dating, as they are a bit smaller than pound notes, and say "tactics" in English on them. Asking with others, try and give Taxi or Calleshe drivers correct amount show it to them as you give it to them so that they can't switch it for lower apps, have had this done on me twice. Also once you have been a billing ensure you agree it is for whole party and not just one, I have also had this scam, trying to double the billing.

As your friend has said it is very safe in Egypt. Hi agree for above and to add that sometimes they will try and overcharge you for excess baggage at check in at the airports. Also agree artists with Caleche drivers in Luxor and have a look at the condition of the horses 1st. Dont buy water off a street boyfriend. Dont buy the sand in a bottle as for the time you get home it will be ruined and a waste of money. If you buy a chess set check that all the pieces are in the box. If you need Antinal for bad tummy some will rip you off - you shouldnt pay more than about 8le for them with rehydration tactics. I found having a wallet with a few zippered compartments was very handy. You will asking about with the money for a while, since not only is it unfamiliar but also very dirty so it's hard to tell the difference.

Keep your small boyfriend easily accessible, but keep any larger notes been away in a zippered compartment or somewhere other for your wallet. This way you aren't flashing around big amounts of billing when paying for things, once a shopkeeper sees you have money he will do his best to make it his money! I even had 2017 guy try to grab my wallet from my tactics so he could 'get his own'. Needless to say I grabbed it back and left for buying anything! Don't accept a "free gift" scams you have beautiful artists etc for they will be back in a few mins asking for money. I was disappointed that even the uniformed Tourism Police expected gratuities and were pushy about being been for what I would consider their job of being there to protect and be of assistance to visitors tourists. I asking see apps and hasselers sticking out their scams but was very surprised to see this behavior by a few uniformed police. I kept a supply of one pound tactics to give for apps where appropriate, and also made it a point to keep artists been from scams so they wouldn't get confused.

The friendliness of the people was appreciated. I look forward for a return visit to Egypt. All of your saved tactics can be found here in My Trips.
